Franklin Johnston Group Promotes Three Employees

The Franklin Johnston Group based in Virginia Beach promoted three employees to new management posts.

Marketing specialist Mary Stine has been named corporate marketing manager, according to a news release. Senior community manager Diana Cruz has been promoted to portfolio manager and operations specialist Stephanie Bertucci became the firm’s new operations manager.

“Hard work, dedication and smart ideas have always been key to the success of the Franklin Johnston Group, and these three women exemplify those principles in every way,” The Franklin Johnston Group President and Chief Operating Officer Taylor Franklin said/ “We know they’ll excel beyond our expectations in these new roles, just as they’ve always done.”

Stine joined The Franklin Johnston Group in April 2014 as the company’s marketing specialist. In her new role, she will lead the strategic marketing and leasing of the company’s entire portfolio — nearly 12,000 luxury, senior and affordable apartment communities from Northern Virginia to Georgia.

Stine also oversees the internal and external corporate and property communications including public relations, event planning, media strategy and development, website design and development, graphic design and reputation management.

Cruz began her career in 1995 as a part-time leasing consultant while attending graduate school at Old Dominion University. She quickly discovered a passion for the multifamily industry, rising to assistant manager in 1998, community manager in 2000, senior community manager in 2015 and now portfolio manager.

An industry veteran since 2008, Bertucci joined The Franklin Johnston Group in early 2015 as a community manager of one of the firm’s newest market-rate assets, boosting occupancy and keeping delinquency below 2 percent.

Serving as an operations specialist and analyst since August 2015, Bertucci’s new role as operations manager will see her managing all operations within the corporate office and on-site teams. She will be responsible for improving and implementing company standards and operational policies, and will serve as the firm’s in-house expert on its daily operations system software.

Bertucci is also involved in special projects such as property acquisitions and dispositions, budget module implementation and review prior to Owner presentations.
