Franklin Johnston Group Communities Win Regional Apartment Industry Awards

Virginia Beach, VA – March 25, 2016 – Last night, the Hampton Roads Apartment Council hosted the fourth annual Apartment Community Excellence Awards Ceremony. Two assets managed by The Franklin Johnston Group took home awards. In total, The Group was nominated for twenty-six recognitions.

The Pointe at Pickett Farms won for Community of the Year Built After 1995 in the affordable category. The Pointe at Pickett Farms team is led by Myra Silvera, Community Manager, and supported by Margaret Dickie, Assistant Community Manager and John Malinish, Maintenance Supervisor. The 300-unit community opened in Norfolk in 2014 and was financed in part by Low Income Housing Tax Credits. This is the second time The Pointe at Pickett Farms was named Community of the Year, earning the award in 2015 as well.

Waterford Pointe, a 120-unit affordable community located in Hampton, earned honorable mention for Community of the Year Built Before 1995. Seneca Lynn, Community Manager, Priscilla Melvin, Assistant Community Manager, and Robert Overton, Maintenance Supervisor lead the Waterford team. In addition to the award this year, Waterford Pointe was named Community of the Year in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
